According to Breakthrough Coaching CEO, Mark Sanna, “It is vital for chiropractors to contact their Senator to ensure fair Medicare reimbursement.” The ACA recently announced that without congressional intervention, beginning Jan. 1, 2008, cuts will be made to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) resulting in a 10 percent decrease in reimbursement for all Medicare providers. DCs are slated to receive an additional 2 percent cut, bringing the overall cut in chiropractic Medicare provider services to 12 percent. Earlier this summer, the House passed legislation that would provide for 0.5 percent MPFS updates in 2008 and 2009. The Senate is currently deliberating a plan to reverse the MPFS cuts. It is imperative that chiropractors let their Senators know that further cuts in the MPFS are unacceptable!
